Virgin Media's high-definition offering is included as part of their V+ service, an integrated decoder/recorder, that allows pausing of live TV, scheduled recording and a HDTV output.

At present only BBC HD is the only regularly available channel from Virgin Media, however new high-definition services such as 4 HD (from Channel 4) are expected to launch early in 2008.
Further selected HD content is available 'On Demand' from:
- BBC
- Bravo
- Channel 4
- Disney-ABC
- Filmflex
- LivingTV
- The History Channel
Other high-definition channels are available for special events such as ITV HD which was broadcast during the 2006 World Cup.
What does it Cost?
The V+ box costs from £150 by way on a one off installation fee, irrespective of any current Virgin subscription.
The monthly cost of the V+ service costs either £5 or nothing depending on the television package you choose, with these ranging up to around £20 per month.

The V+ box supports 720p and 1080i high-definition video output via its digital HDMI and analogue component outputs. HD contents is currently available from the component output unprotected, however some programmes may be restricted to the HDMI output via HDCP.
