We have a Humax Freeesat box but it is locked on to a tv channel and we cannot get off. We have not put in any password and are at a loss to solve the problem. Any ideas?

Assuming that it's not your remote that's at fault and you have tried using the buttons on the box itself to no avail I'd simply remove the power to reset the device.

Is it possible to get a LED HD TV with built in Freesat HD *and* built in DVD player?

You might just be able to find a small caraven/kitchen TV that contains both a DVD player and a Freesat receiver but I couldn't find such a device looking just now. I doubt you'll find anything bigger than that if at all so I'd probably concentrate on finding two devicesto do exactly what you want; if space is an issue for example a compact/travel DVD player may fit the bill.

I have a DMR-XS350EB Panasonic Freesat recorder, version 1.5. I just moved house, 8 miles away and set up my TV and recorded exactly the same as in my previous house. I have one cable and a splitter just the same as in my previouse property. However, on many channels, particularly HD, I get the message "No Service" on screen. Have you any idea why. All the channels I am getting are an excellent picture.

You should probably perform an initial set up of your Freesat system a second time at your new home assuming you're not using the same dish and LNB as before.

I have just moved house into an area where HD is not available until Sept next year, my postcode is YO11 3TJ, I have now found that my HD Sagem Recorder will not work at all in my new house - I receive a message saying there is a problem with the aerial. Does the fact that I cannot receive HD channels mean that I cannot record ordinary channels via my HD recorder anymore?

You should do a re-scan for channels as you will have changed transmitters with your move and that will probably fix things. Until switchover in September you will only be able to watch standard-definition Freeview but your Freeview HD box will work fine with regular Freeview too.

Look in 'Home > Settings > Change Display and Audio Settings' and experiment with the options, you probably want to select the appropriate 'wide' resolution for your HDTV.

I have just connected to a Virgin Media Set Top Box. Before I was using a Freeview box and the picture shown was full width 16 by 9 (16:9) aspect ratio. On the Virgin box the picture is 4 by 3 (4:3) aspect ratio. How do I change it to give the full worth picture?

I have a panasonic 50" plasma with Freeview & Freesat HD. connected into it I have a Sky HD box and Panasonic blu ray surround sound both by HDMI leads only. The main tv ariel goes to the sky box and then the RF1 goes to the TV and the RF2 to a SLX distribution unit which feeds 4 tv points around the house. The sky box and TV both have an optical lead connected into the surround sound. All works well, including sound from the tv and sky box into the surround sound unit until we try and play a DVD and then we lose the signal to all the four Tv`s connected by the distribution unit ( which for reference is mains powered) can you tell me why this might happen?

If the HDMI connections are the only links between your devices I'd suggest experimenting with the settings for HDMI Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) which Panasonic call "VIERA Link" as perhaps it's shutting down your Sky box when you change to watching you Blu-ray player.

I'm just asking, do you need a HDTV when you get Freesat recoder box?

You don't necessarily need an HDTV in order to watch Freesat, provided the box you have is able to be physically connected via SCART or similar to your TV that's all you should need. The Freesat box could even be a high-definition capable box and so long as it has an output you can connect to your TV you'll be able to watch in standard-definition.

I have just bought a Toshiba 40TL868B 40-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p 3D-Ready LED TV with built in Freeview HD. I normally use Virgin Media Cable which I disconnected and attached the arial connection directly to the new TV. I tried the auto-tuning channel set up and it didn't pick up any Freeview C\channels (including HD). I have entered my postcode SA10 and I should be able to pick up the Freeview HD service. Do you have any suggestions?

Just to be clear you can't use your cable connection to pick up the Freeview channels, you need to connect the aerial input on your HDTV to an aerial of some sort. If indeed that's what you're doing I would check the connections are secure and that the auto-tuning isn't trying to scan for cable channels, it's looking at for aerial/antenna/air channels.
